                               Welcome To Doug's Site

Thank you to those of you who still are expressing interest in my whereabouts.

You will also see a new page added to this site that is entitled

     Your Chance For Success

Power Point Presentation

I urge you to look at that. It is the top tab to your left above the HOME page tab.

I was going long haul and gone for weeks at a time, but now I am able to do local driving and I am home every night and have weekends and holidays off to be with my family. When you check out this new page on my site, you will begin to see why I am able to work less, and gain more time to be with my friends and family.

I urge you to ask questions and be ready to reserve 10 minutes of your time.

We can set up a time for us to talk on the phone.

This site is a great place to come when you have absolutely nothing else to do and you are totally bored.  LOL

This is where I tell my on line friends to come when they want to know whats been going on...or how my career is going...or where my truck routs will take me...etc.

I have found that there is allot of fascination with the big rigs. I have always been fascinated with them myself, but as you see I have just now followed through. Now I have so many on line friends asking me all kinds of questions about the career in general..or questions as to how hard it is to get liscensed, or how hard it is to drive them, etc..

Honestly..I just tell them...if I can persue my dream career and acheive it..then you can as well. I am new to the career myself, but will be more than happy to keep supplying everyone with the knowledge I gain and experience as I go.

Many times, people just get burned out on the career they presently have, and just don't know where else to find a rewarding and good paying job. They sit at their desks and feel as if they are in a cage. Or perhaps they work at a resturant and do the same thing over and over..or perhaps work in a factory where you rely on a mechanical bell to tell you when you can take a break or in some cases..when you can use the bathroom! How about people doing sales? They are out there banging on doors and making endless phone calls making contact with people who treat them rudely like leopards or criminals when they are contacted. The list goes on and on of the JOBS out there...but I am sure you get the gist.

Driving a truck nowadays is so much safer and so much easier than what it used to be. The technology in each truck has advanced so much. That ranges from vehicle safety equipment to driver comforts. The companies are now going out of their way to make sure that the drivers can stay in touch with loved ones while gone. Many company trucks have GPS as well as Internet access and TV's right in the sleeper. Many companies allow and even endorse bringing your spouse, kid(s), or even your dog for that long haul so that you don't sacrefice all just for the company.

1: The companies have more trucks than they have drivers!  This makes the driving career high in demand allowing you job security if you keep your license clean and you remain drug and alcohol free while driving.

2: The pay is very generous. Especially when you want to put the miles in.  If you like to drive and want to see more than just the local shopping strip mall...why not get paid to do so?  Why not travel and get paid good money to see the states out there that you may have been curious to see?

3:  The health, dental, vision, prescription plans are either comparable to what you have now if not better. If you need to ask what a 401 K  plan is..or retirement plan is...then you are working in the wrong field or wrong job right now!

4:  As a driver..you are not just a "truck driver"  You are a highly trained licensed professional. Your career is respected and in most cases..admired by many. But in order to drive these big trucks, you must go through extensive training and meet high DOT expectations to acquire your license. But this also brings a large sense of pride being called a professional.

How many times have you been along a rig and watched it rumbling along on the thruway and thought to yourself " I wonder what state they are going to?" "Where have they been?"  or have you even been along a rig and did the air horn pull with your hand trying to get that big rig to blow them air horns? Don't tell me that only your kids do it either! lol  Big rigs rule!!

My points are all summed up....Good money..good benefites...Expertly trained..Company perks..family orientated company policies while on the road..driver comfort..new safety standards on the trucks..new and or well maintained fleets..highest of technology for the driver..your profession is high in demand..no boss looking over your shoulder, and you don't have to wait for a break bell to use the bathroom!

For those of you who know what I mean..it's always wize not to "aggravate the dots!!  LoL
